Sydney's Arrival!

On February 19th our friends Andy and Jessica welcomed their sweet baby girl Sydney! Today (Feb 20th) we got to bring dinner to their house and meet her for the first time. She's beautiful and so sweet. We are excited to watch her grow and be a part of her life. Declan was very gentle with her. He even laid his head on her to give her a little hug.

More New Skills

Last week we took Declan for a bike ride on the North Creek Trail. We saw lots of ducks on the way. Declan said duck and even quacked. Later I asked him "what does a dog say?" He replied "RRRjjjj." It was hilarious. We've been working on sounds all week. He can now meow, moo and quack. It's pretty funny!

He also found a whistle on my key chain this week. After two tries he figured out how to get the whistle to make noise!

At swimming this week, Declan floated on his back all by himself three times! We are very proud of our little swimmer. Before next week he has to learn to keep his mouth closed when in the water and not drink the water! Yuck!

Valentine's Day

We had a very busy Valentine's day! First we went to Cameron Huth's 5th birthday party! Declan had a wonderful time playing (mostly watching) Cameron, Joel, Brekyn, Kyler, London, Ava, Carter and Beckett! The kids all enjoyed swinging and driving the pink jeep. The twins, Claire and Eleanor relaxed inside with the adults. It was a beautiful sunny day to play in Rose's backyard.

After the party, we went to meet Uncle Scott, Auntie Kristine and Elias at the Mukilteo Gulch. The boys had so much fun playing on the slide at the playground. Then we loaded the boys into their backpacks and went for a walk in the gulch. After our walk we headed down to the beach to get dinner at Diamon Knot. There was a bit of a wait since it was Valentine's Day. We walked down by the lighthouse and let the boys run around. Once we sat down for dinner Declan was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. The boys were great during dinner! We had a busy, fun day in the February sunshine!

We've really enjoyed the warm weather this week. Declan and I spent a lot of time outside playing. We even enjoyed a long walk with Claire, Eleanor and their mom. Afterward, Declan and I played with bubbles in our front yard.

Play dough

Declan loves to do play dough. He especially likes to use his play pizza cutter to cut the play

dough into pieces. He sits at his picnic table and plays and plays!

Our friends came over to play and have dinner on Sunday! The dads went whiskey tasting in Woodinville. Sandi brought the kids over and we played in the yard! The weather was perfect for kicking the ball and playing tag. Missy joined us in the afternoon as well. In the evening, Sam and Amanda brought their families over for dinner. Christiane joined us as well. We had a great afternoon and evening, eating, laughing and playing together.

Friday, February 13th!

On Friday, Brad joined us for swimming lessons for the first time! Declan loved having his daddy in the water with him. He really showed off for his dad. Afterwards we went to Great Nana's for Waffle Friday. Daddy wasn't feeling great so we didn't stay too long.

We went home for an afternoon rest. In the evening Brad took us to dinner at Anthony's! The three of us walked on the dock and looked at the beautiful view of Jetty Island.  We had the early bird dinner and it was delicious. We are always so proud of Declan when we take him places. He's always such a happy, polite, sweet boy!

It's HOT!

Declan has been learning so many new things! His brain is an amazing little sponge. This week he's learned how to blow bubbles with a straw. It has been hilarious to watch him do try to get his lips around the straw.

He's also learning about things being hot. He loves to blow on his food, even if it's cold. He's watched us do it for him and wants to do it too.

This morning he woke up from his nap and I was having a cup of tea. He ran up to it and yelled "OT!!" Then he blew and blew on it to cool it down for me. It was very sweet!

Declan loves to help around the house. He loves to follow me around when I vacuum. He enjoys using the hose attachment too! Brad and I can't sweep or wash the floor in front of him without his help! Declan grabs the broom away and tries to do it himself!

First blood and a birthday party

Since Declan started walking he's suffered several bumps and bruises. He's always been a trooper and recovered pretty quickly.

Today was Friday swim day. We headed off to swimming. As usual Declan was eager to get into the pool. He tried to jump into the lazy river but to his dismay I managed to grab him before he did that. We splashed in the beach area until lesson time. Grammy came to watch Declan swim of course. When he saw her, he said "Mao." I guess this is what he wants to call her. Anyway, towards the end of the lesson Miss Ashley said it was time to do Humpty Dumpty. Declan has learned to crawl out of the pool and then jump in. He went right over to the edge to pull himself out. I was holding on to him to help him crawl out when his face went smash on the platform of the pool. Poor little guy cried and cried as his lip bled and his mouth filled with blood. He also has a little bruise and scrape on his chin. After he calmed down he wanted to get right back in the water! We stayed until the end of the lesson.

Then we picked up Pop for lunch. Today is Great Aunt Paula's birthday. Uncle Todd, cousin Dan, Pop, Grammy and great Nana all ate lunch at Scuttlebutt's to celebrate her! Then we all went to the Goodwill for a few minutes. Declan and I headed home for a late afternoon nap.

After his nap, the yogurt monster came for a visit!

I forgot to post the pictures from the Seahawk's Superbowl. Even though they lost we all had a good time.
