Adopting Brody

On Saturday we decided to go to the animal shelter and think about adopting a dog. We knew we didn't want a puppy and wanted a dog about 25 pounds. After visiting the Everett animal shelter, we went up to NOAH in Stanwood. They had lots of dogs needing homes. WE choose three we wanted to meet. Immediately our matchmaker suggested that one wasn't right for us and one was being adopted. We decided to meet the third dog. He was about 20 pounds and very fluffy. We went into the room that he shared with two other dogs. The little chiweenie in the room immediately ran up to me and jumped on to my lap. Since we were there to see another dog, I set him down. He went over to play with Declan. I tried to hold and pet the dog we were interested in, but he didn't seem to be interested in us. He didn't like Brad at all. The other little dog was sitting in Brad's lap and rubbing his head all over Brad's hand. After visitng more with the little guy and taking him for a walk, we decided he was the one for us! Brody is a 6 pound dachshund and Chihuahua mix. He's friendly and athletic. He loves to snuggle and burrow under blankets. We are thrilled to have him in our family!
