Arches National Park Sunday, May 18th

Today we headed to Arches. We left our hotel early and made the 50 minute drive. The drive up was beautiful.

First we did the Park Avenue walk. It was a gentle walk between beautiful high walls. It had panoramic views.

Taking a break

Next we headed over to the Balanced Rock. It is huge!

Afterwards we went to The Windows and the Turrett Arch.
We went on the "primitive" trail around the back. It became very windy! Sand was blowing in our faces and pelting our bodies.

Then we walked down the trail to Double Arch. It was incredible!

We headed back to the car and enjoyed a picnic lunch.
Our last major stop was my favorite: Sand Dune aArch. It was a short walk through tall rock walls on a sandy floor. It was protected from the driving winds that was throwing sand in our faces. It was completely secluded and amazing.

We planned to do a bit more walking around but the winds were so bad Declan was squeezing his eyes shut and being pummeled by sand and dirt. We headed into Moab for an early dinner at the Moab brewery. We were exhausted after our busy day. We came back to our hotel, went for a swim, packed our things to head to our campsite tomorrow and went to bed! The guys are busy snoring while I type!
