Conservatory and University

Thursday morning we got up and headed out! First we went to Easton, which is one of the largest shopping centers in Columbus. We needed to run a couple of errands there. After Easton we had lunch at El Vaquero. It was delicious! Then we went to the Franklin Park Conservatory. It's a huge area with several gardens displaying plant life from different areas. There's also a large outdoor area, too.

Declan loved the butterfly exhibit so much he said his first sentence "this is wow!"

Next we explored the Bonsai garden with a giant spider!

Declan tried looking through the eyes of a butterfly!

Next we went to an outdoor garden area where Declan saw a giant praying mantis.

Our next stop was in the cactus room. We saw all sorts of different cacti.

Here's the tropical rain forest:

Next we came to the Himalayas where we saw all sorts of different plants, including conifers. The windows are open year round in this exhibit to help the plants stay dormant in the winter. We also saw the miniature train set in this exhibit.

Last we went outside and wandered around the beautiful grounds!

Declan fell asleep in the car so we did a quick driving tour followed by a stop at Ohio State.

Playing around at the university.
